Hilton Grand Vacations Club Maui Bay Villas

The resort is not quite finished but I feel that added to the likability. Not crowded. Incredible pool area and beautiful beach across the street (lovely sunsets and turtle resting place!). Room was gorgeous, comfortable bed, lanai, bidet, and well-equipped kitchen. I did not have a car but bus system is easy and close by. Also nice walks in either direction along S. Kihei Rd. Yes they could use more food options but buy groceries and fill your fridge at the or check out the local restaurants.

Service is great, just text them for fast, kind room service help of any kind at any time. Tough to find that kind of responsiveness in hotel resorts. If you like a hotel a bit more private and quiet, this is the spot. It's labeled as two star resort but likely due to not being completed. Should be 4+ star when completed. Yes, there is construction noise Jan '24 due to the hotel not being completed yet, but put up with some of that during the day and it's wonderful. Nothing is crowded, cabana's with locks are free to use and available poolside. We appreciated being off the main tourist strip and in a more quiet area. Short drive to coffee, shaved ice, lots of food options and larger beaches if you desire. Loved the small beachfront pool and sandy beach that is a part of the hotel, great for families and adults of all ages. Wonderful help onsite booking any kind of excursion or experience you want in Hawaii.

Overall this Hilton property is exorbitantly overpriced for the level of service, or more accurately the lack of service. It is a property with Air BnB type of limited service but it is priced like a luxury resort. Pros: 2 bedroom rooms are new and clean. The common area is spacious. The full kitchen is nice. The pools are amazing. Size is a huge plus, for the current number of rooms, it is great. The water slides are basic but still a valuable feature. The staff at the poolside are very nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that's the only place you'll find any staff. Cons: This Hilton cannot be considered an oceanfront or waterfront property. The Hilton owns a small sliver of beach property that is separated from the rest of the property by a busy road. The property's beach can only be described as overwhelmingly tiny. There is a small public beach area nearby but that is not maintained and as a result it is full of garbage and other debris. Rooms: Furniture is subpar and uncomfortable. Both the 2nd bedroom and bathroom are small and have a poor layout. Views are nonexistent - currently: construction workers and dust from the site. Future: other people's rooms. Service: lack of room cleaning and replacement of towels (etc) is illogical. One cleaning/service over a 7-night stay is not acceptable for the cost of the rooms or from what is expected from the Hilton brand. This policy should be outlined before booking but unfortunately is not. When/if someone picks up, calling the front desk is incredibly inconvenient for fresh towels, ice, and emptying trash cans. No ice machines and the refrigerator makes about 8-10 ice cubes per day. Poolside service drinks/food is also non existent. While the pool area is beautiful, beware there is a 10' high black tarp on the longest side, so not only is the ambiance ruined but trying to relax at the pool is challenging due to the constant construction noise. With the pool being next to the construction everything is also covered in construction dust. Notice of the significant amount of construction on the property should have been provided before booking, not after. Minimal food/drinks are available on the property with even more restrictive hours. Even the snack shop has limited hours and an even more limited selection. The poolside bar has limited hours as well.

During our recent 5-night stay at Building 9 of your property, we were unfortunately impacted by a few factors that did not meet our expectations. Disruption from construction: While we understand renovations happen, the ongoing construction directly in front of the property significantly impacted our stay with noise throughout. Had we been informed of this prior to booking, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere. In comparison to other hotels and resorts we've experienced, with typically an 11am checkout time and more frequent housekeeping, one housekeeping service for a 5-night stay felt insufficient. Knowing the standard checkout time, we inquired about a potential late checkout on our last night. While we understand potential high demand due to the New Year's Eve weekend, a 30-minute extension would have been greatly appreciated, particularly considering our 5-night stay. The "no" response left us feeling undervalued as guests. These limitations ultimately hindered our overall experience and make us hesitant to return to your property or other Hilton properties in the future.

I spent my birthday week at this resort and had a fantastic experience! I appreciated a birthday card and good quality dark chocolate sent to my room. I stayed at many timeshare resorts in the US. This resort stands out. It is very private, unlike other resorts that belong to major brands on the island. They don't have too many rooms open yet, and part of the resort is still under construction (which did not interfere with our stay at all) - hence, not too many visitors. We ended up having a beach during the day and swimming pools in the evening just for ourselves! They have brand new everything: high tech, good quality appliances, beautiful expensive furniture, and very comfortable beds. The internet speed was fast. The smart TV can be paired with your devices seamlessly. They offer service via text message.
